WTO members continued the discussion on whether to extend the TRIPS Decision adopted in June at the 12th WTO Ministerial Conference to COVID-19 diagnostics and therapeutics. At a meeting of the Council for Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS) on 16-17 March, members also provided detailed information on a large number of newly notified laws and regulations and exchanged experiences on cross-border cooperation among Intellectual Property Offices. The Council elected Ms. Pimchanok Pitfield, Ambassador of Thailand, as Chair for the coming year.
