Golden Visa in Jordan

Jordan’s citizenship-by-investment scheme was introduced in February 2018. The program allows for the main applicant’s and family’s nationality to be determined based on a variety of investment options. Over 200 investors (primary applicants) from Canada, Iraq, India, Finland, Lebanon, Pakistan, Palestine, Syria, and the United States have already expressed interest in Jordan CBI. According to the Jordanian Investment Commission, the total sum raised via the program was roughly $1.38 billion, or around $6.9 million per investor on average.

The Jordanian Council of Ministers announced in September 2020 that the minimum investment requirements for the Jordanian CBI would be dropped by 25% to 50%, depending on the exact option chosen.

Investment Options

  • Central bank deposit of $1 million to be held for three years (formerly US $1.5 million to be held for five years).
  • Investing $1 million in treasury bonds in the United States: To be held for 6 years (previously for 10 years for US $1.5 million).
  • Investment of $1 million in share capital: An investment in a Jordanian company’s share capital that must be held for at least three years.
  • SME investment of $750,000: A minimum investment of $750,000 in a small to medium-sized Jordanian company, to be held for at least three years (formerly $1 million).
  • Jordanian company formation: Company formation and job creation for at least 20 people in the capital region, with a minimum capitalization of US $1.5 million (previously US $2 million), to be held for at least three years.
  • Jordanian Company Formation: Company formation and job creation for at least 20 people outside of the capital region, with a minimum capitalization of $1 million (previously $1.5 million), to be held for at least three years.
  • Jordan also allows foreign investors to get Jordanian residency by purchasing a US $280,000 property that must be held for a minimum of ten years. Unlike the Jordanian CBI, this program has only had four successful applications so far.
